Mobilerated’s Handset Top 10
MobileRated released it’s top ten downloading handsets, showing the cheapest gamers are owners of the blackberry 8100.
- Blackberry 8100 | RIM
- K750i | SonyEricsson
- V3 | Motorola
- 6620 | Nokia
- K810i | SonyEricsson
- Blackberry 8700 | RIM
- N70 | Nokia
- K800i | SonyEricsson
- 6280 | Nokia
- 6600 | Nokia
Of course statistics like these depend highly on the available handsets supported on the portal. Since the portal is based on free mobile games, I recon the download numbers are not compromised by the content offering. I wonder what Greystripe’s top 10 is.
Gameloft’s Q4 ‘06
We just received the fourth quarter results from Gameloft. In Q4 they had € 21.8 million worth of consolidated sales, which is a 41% increase on last year. The total turnover was set at € 88.4 million which is a 46% increase on last year. 91% of the turnover was received trough their mobile games.
Europe was the strongest region for Gameloft as it made 45% of its sales there. America was a strong second at 39% and the remaining 16% went to the rest of the world. It is clear Gameloft has a lot to win in Asia and perhaps even still in the America which for many bigger publishers is the main market while those often have some problems in Europe.
For next year, Gameloft is very positive as they expect a turnover between € 90 million and € 100 million. A big part of future revenues might come trough direct sales on the Gameloft website which is powered by Bango as Houssain Elguertit explains to Mobile Entertainment Magazine.
Houssain Elguertit, Gameloft’s B2C development manager, said:
“We are very happy to have signed this partnership with Bango. We’re witnessing a big evolution today in terms of WAP usage and Bango is a good partner to work with for WAP billing.”
